Five students performed their solos at UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest at Howard Payne on Saturday, February 18.

Annette Calderon, Hunter Ellis, Kendle Coan, Gerardo Villarreal and Kenna Hall were all awarded 1st division medals and qualified to advance to State UIL competition in Austin in May.

“We all worked extremely hard and spent a lot of time practicing to get where we are now,” Hall said.

Eleven music students represented CHS this year at State UIL, with Ellis qualifying in both areas.

“The Comanche students represented our school with their vocal solos very well,” Band Director Kim Reedy said. “We’re proud of the students that advanced to State.”
