The Indians traveled to Coleman on Friday, Mar. 30 to take on the winless Bluecats. Comanche was missing three senior starting players in the matchup due to the 800 meter relay track team being selected for the Texas Relays, but nonetheless the Indians came away with a 12-4 win.

The game started very slowly forboth teams, but especially for Comanche who trailed 2-1 until the fifth inning where they still only scored two runs to put them up one.

Things changed very quickly after that. The Indians scored five in the next inning to Coleman’s zero, and then four in the seventh and final inning.

Senior Trenton Strickland started the game for the Indians and pitched three and one-third total innings. In those innings he had four allowed hits, two runs, four walks, and one strikeout. Jeremy Bostick relieved Strickland and pitched three and two-thirds innings allowing two hits,  and two runs with three strikeouts.

Strickland also had a phenomenal night at the plate going 2-4 with one double, one triple, two runs, two RBI’s and one walk.

“We started off extremely flat,” Strickland said. “But we finally turned it on and started scoring like we should have the entire time. We finished great, but we just needed to start off better, which has seemed to be a problem throughout the entire year.”

The batting stats for the Indians are:

Collin Davis- 2-4, 2 singles, 3 Runs, 1 BB

Trent Strickland- 2-4, double, triple, 2 Runs, 2 RBI, BB

Ethan Wilson- 0-4, 2 RBI, BB, 2 Runs

Joe Gilligan- 1-3, triple, 2 runs, 3 RBI, 1 BB

Dillian Bill- 2-4, Double, single, 3 RBI, 1 Run, 1 BB

Casey Beaty- 1-4, Double, RBI, BB

Jeremy Bostick- 0-2, BB

Gavin Farrar- 0-1, BB, Run

Trendoin Morin- 1-4, single, Run,

The Indians will finish the first round of district on Tuesday 4th with a home game versus Early.
