The athletic department  held their annual athletic banquet on May 8 and recognized several seniors for their roles both on and off the playing field.

The Fighting Heart Award was given to seniors Ty McCullough, Pedro Bernal and Molly Stephens. This honor is given to the athlete who has shown leadership and toughness both mentally and physically and chosen from the votes of their peers.

” I felt honored to receive the award and put in countless hours to achieve my goals,” Stephens said. “I’m happy my peers gave me that recognition.”

Seniors Ali Cotten and Grayland Jackson were chosen by the coaches to receive the  Maiden/Indian Award. The recipient is chosen for their academics, leadership, discipline and athletic accomplishments in multiple sports.

“I felt like I worked hard, but was worried I wouldn’t get noticed by the coaches,” Jackson said. “But I was glad that I did.”
