The CHS Automotive, Robotics, and Skills USA chapter students are partnering up with  a Mount Pleasant Church sponsored mission trip to gift bicycles to youth in Eagle Pass, TX.

Students will gather and refurbish as many bikes as they can by Dec. 1 and plan to have them gifted for Christmas.

“It’s great when you see a kid happy, especially at Christmas time, when there may not be that much there for them, “ teacher and Skills USA director Mr. Parker said. “The parents and grandparents I think will be thrilled to give the kids something they’d otherwise couldn’t.”

Skills USA students will accept bike donations that are no longer in use regardless of condition or size as well as bicycle parts from surrounding communities.

Mr. Parker will aid the Skills USA students in performing necessary repairs to the donated bikes.

“I think it’ll be very fun to learn how to restore old bikes,” freshman CJ Ruggles said. “It’ll be heartwarming the see the kids’ faces when they receive the bikes as well.”
