13 players, coaching staff receive All District honors

The Comanche Indians tallied 13 All-District selections following their 9-4 Area Championship season.

Kade Mercer was named the District-6 3A MVP for his play on both sides of the ball as running back and linebacker.

“I was happy to be able to receive the MVP award,” Mercer said. “I could not have been able to accomplish this task without my teammates or coaches.”

Senior defensive tackle Dakota Moreno earned Defensive MVP.

“It was an honor to earn this title,” Moreno said. “I was extremely blessed to receive this honor.”

Indians who earned offensive first team honors include: linemen Kendel Beck, Thomas Ramirez, and Jeron Conine; receiver Price Odom; running back Zach Foster and Zach Rodriguez.

Defensive first team selections included: linemen Roberto Medrano, Kendel Beck, and Alex Davalos; linebacker Max Jimenez; and defensive backs Price Odom and Trendon Morin.

Morin earned second team offensive honors at quarterback and defensive back Jeremiah Arreola was second team on defense.

Players earning spots on the honorable mention team include: Dakota Moreno (offensive line), Jeron Conine (defensive line), and Ryan Stephens (tight end).

Along with these honors, the Comanche coaching staff was also named Coaching Staff of the Year.
