The One Act Play cast recently traveled to Hamilton to compete in the UIL zone theater competition.

The group performed “I Will Not Shut and Bar the Door”  with theater teacher Georgeann Landreth as the director.

“Our job was to go and entertain a group and that’s what we did,” Landreth said. “I’m extremely proud of them and I will miss my seniors”

While the group did not advance to the next level of competition, many individual actors and actresses received awards for their performances.

Senior Cristian Mallory and junior Brian Krawl were named All-Star Cast.

“Itwas a really fun production to put on,” Mallory said. “We worked really hard on it and I think everyone should’ve gotten an award.”

Senior Emily Haught and junior Taylor Berends were also named Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.

Also Dexter Young and his technical crew were name best overall.

The One Act Play cast will hold a community performance at 6 pm on March 21 in the CHS Commons. Donations to the program will be accepted for admittance to see the performance.
