Indians defeat Dublin, fall to Bangs in district play

The Indians sit 1-1 in district after a 3-2 loss to Bangs and a 8-5 win against Dublin over spring break.

Senior Trendon Morin took the mound for the Indians against Bangs and pitched a total of six innings. He had 10 strikeouts, walked one, and allowed three runs.

Junior Jeron Conine had a big game offensively. He went 2- for 3 with a double and triple and 2 RBI’s.

“We didn’t play to our full potential and could have put out more effort,” sophomore Cash Cook said.

Sophomore Trent Odom pitched five innings for a win against Dublin on Mar. 14. Conine pitched two innings for the save. The two pitchers combined for six strikeouts and two walks.

Freshman Luke Wilson went 2- for 2 with a single and double and had one RBI.

Sophomore Taelon Sorrells went 2- for 3 with two RBI’s and a run.

“We had some good hits and our defense was great that game,” Sorrells said. “We were glad to get our first district win.”
