Maidens begin district play undefeated

The Maidens won three games over spring break and remain undefeated in district.

The Maidens defeated Cisco at home on Mar. 8, 6-4.

Junior Chloe Williams took the mound for the Maidens against Cisco. She had seven strikeouts, walked two, and allowed four runs.

Freshman Reagan Harms had a big game offensively. Harms hit her second home run of the season on two run shot.

“It was really good,“ Harms said. “It got us going and helped as motivation for the whole team.”

Alize Lopez led the Maidens with two hits in three at bats.

The Maidens traveled to Bangs on Mar. 11 and defeated the Dragons, 10-1.

Williams pitched six innings striking out nine and walking one. Lopez pitched one inning of relief and struck out two.

Harms,  Vicki Lopez, and Summer Furlong each had two doubles.

On Mar. 14, the Maidens played Dublin on a neutral field due to rain.

The Maidens had a 17-run fourth inning and run ruled the Lady Lions 21-11.

Harms led the Maidens with four hits and junior Carly Rodriguez had three stolen bases.

Both Williams and Lopez pitched in the game. Williams struck out four and Lopez two.

“Each game we have been working together and pushing towards our goal which is to win district and make a run in the playoffs,” Williams said.
