After a 9-3 loss at Early and a blow out win at home against Hamilton, the Maidens are tied for first in District 6-AAA.

The Maidens took a tough road loss in Early on Mar. 26.

Junior Chloe Williams took the mound for the Maidens against Early and notched ten strikeouts, walked six, and gave up eight runs.

Junior Vicki Lopez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Maidens.

Comanche committed three errors in the game and the Lady Longhorns collected 15 hits.

“We weren’t all there and ready to play,” sophomore Lynzie Day said. “We took them too lightly.”

The Maidens will hope to revenge their loss on April 18 when they will face Early again at home.

The Maidens hosted Hamilton on Mar. 29 and run-ruled the Lady Bulldogs, 29-7.

Williams, Alize Lopez, and Gabby Arreola all pitched for the Maidens striking out seven and walking three.

The Maiden’s offense was on fire with 20 hits in the game. Danielle Wendt, Reagan Harms, Lopez, Williams, Landrie Day and Lynzie all recorded multiple hits.

The Maidens also tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases.

“We worked well as a team,” sophomore Summer Furlong said. “We were well coached for the game and had the mindset to come out and win on Friday after the loss to Early.”
