The Comanche County Stock Show was recently held and several high school students participated in the event.

Seniors Ryan Stephens and Jeron Conine placed grand champion and reserve grand champion with their market steers.

“The competition at this year’s stock show was pretty good,” Stephens said. “Hopefully, it keeps on getting better as this is my last year. I hope the steer show will keep on getting better for Comanche County.”

Conine was proud to see his effort pay off as his market steer received Reserve Grand Champion.

“It just felt really good to get reserve,” Conine said. “It was much needed and I put in lots of hard work.”

Junior Yancy Perkins had the Grand Champion market goat.

“You have to challenge yourself to become a better person and to show the goat the best you can,” Perkins said.

Sophomore Hope McGinnis won both reserve champion market goat and lamb.
