Number Sense, Accounting teams take first at Lampasas academic meet

The UIL Academic teams traveled to the Lampasas meet on Sat., Feb. 15. 

The UIL Accounting and Number Sense teams placed first overall. 

Junior Aaron Barnett placed third individually in Accounting, along with his teammates Jessika Covey (5th), Araceli Ramirez (6th), and Daniella Meras (7th).

“I feel good about what place I got,” Barnett said. “Next time, I can do better by not guessing on as many questions.”

From the Number Sense team, Matthew Till placed third individually, while Matthew Martin placed fifth and Daniel Adame sixth.

“I felt like I did pretty good,” Martin said. “I didn’t get very far on the test, but I only missed a couple questions, so I had a decent score overall.”

The next meet will be the district competition on March 25 in Coleman.
