The boys’ golf team took advantage of playing on their home turf, competing in their first tournament of the year at Par Country Club. The team snagged first place with a score of 340.

Senior Kasey Middleton won the tournament finishing one under par at 71.

“I’m glad we opened up our season with a win; but having said that, we have a lot of work to do,” Middleton said. “This team has a lot of potential, and we believe that Comanche is the team to beat for 3A gold. But, for now, we will just focus on getting another win.”

Other individual results were:

Bryce Hermesmeyer (89), Jaton Pate (90), Ace Jones (90), Brendon Harris (93), and Mason Cotton (135).

Senior Emma Coffey led the girls’ team shooting a 102.

Other Maiden’s scores were Chayse Wilson (120), Kenzey Brawley (122),  Araceli Rangel (125), Aevrie Seegmiller (132), Gabby Arreola (134), and Emily Hughitt (140).
