Let me first start this review by saying this was the first Star Wars movie I had ever seen; but after watching, I was persuaded to go out and watch the rest of the series. I became a Star Wars nerd.
But even without seeing the other films in the series, I was able to easily understand the events unfolding on the screen before me.
The grand reopening of the Star Wars series was quite a success. The movie begins with the classic “[i]n a galaxy far far away…” paying homage to the original six movies and keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

The suspense doesn’t stop, even at the end. For instance, right in the middle we find our two heroes caught on a ship after flying the Millenium Falcon a bit too close to it. We are  caught in suspense waiting to discover who’s caught them, is it the antagonist or is it someone friendly?

After this there is still constant twists, turns and plot-twists. However, there is also more than just the suspense. There is the perfect balance between humor and action. There is a strong plot line (although it’s much like Star Wars IV: A New Hope), filled with love, family and friendships.  Ties are strengthened and created, and one character is even lost to which the audience feels a close bond.
Overall, this movie is very entertaining and attention grabbing. Even without seeing the beginning of the series, I was easily able to pick up on the action and I was able to thoroughly enjoy myself. This movie is especially appealing to those who enjoy action and Sci-Fi. 10/10, I would watch again.

A “Star Wars Nerd?” …these aren’t the nerds you’re looking for.
